I was a fresh graduate from  DLSU ( Taft, Manila) , September of 1993 when I decided to go home to Bacolod  and look for a job here.  My mom ( Mrs. Rosita Uy)  was then starting to bake and cook some foods, and  sell it to her friends.  After the death of my brother and when my Dad got a heart attack and a stroke, that was the time when I stand firm and took the risk to start up a catering business. I gave my Mom the idea and without hesitation she said yes because we don’t have any choice. With the hospital bills piling up plus other expenses, our bank account was already zero.   We don’t have any experience at all about catering.  With full faith and trust in God, we only had our prayers and hard work as our main recipe.  We formally started June 1, 1994. It’s a mother-daugther tandem in all phases of work. As we go along, we try to learn from our mistakes and open ourselves to comments and suggestions.  Soon, I enrolled to ICS Catering and Gourmet Cooking Home Study Program, and attended some seminars related to catering.  Blessings upon blessings came to us. We started from serving 10 persons. Now we can serve as much as 1000 persons Buffet Style and as much as 6000 persons for our packed food in a given day.  We use to serve only very simple occasion like Birthdays… Now, we cater ALL OCCASIONS and accept Short orders. We also do rentals of our equipments.

After 10 years the mother-daughter tandem has now become a family business. My two brothers (Manuel and Joseph)  has now joined  us making us a team of 4. Once a gardener, now our Captain waiter. Our helpers, now our Chief Cook and Supervisors. Ten years of serving not only the people of Bacolod but as far as Cuayan in the South ,  San Carlos City in the North, Alangilan in the East and Mambukal in the West. We’re all around Negros Occidental. Our mission and vision we once made is becoming into a reality. That is to reach out to all who would need our services. Our social responsibility to our community was achieved by providing jobs to the people around us. Through the years of serving the good people of Bacolod and Negros, we go back to our main recipe – Prayers, Hardwork and God’s call to us- that is to SERVE!  As our economy become very uncertain, our prayers as TEAM MISYELS would keep us focus to keep going  in the succeeding years. We wi ll do our best to keep and maintain  our motto – pangit-ngita-on mo gid  ( hahanap-hanapin mo) in the years to come.

Everything we have now, we owe it to God, to our first customers who trusted us and gave us the chance to prove ourselves, to all our customers at present who supported us even in hard times, and to our dedicated people who worked for us.

This year we are celebrating our 15th year anniversary….1994-2009. We hope to launch 15 new menu’s by  June and launch our website www.misyelscatering.com.   God’s Faithfulness turned into God’s faithFOODNESS.
